Brilliancy

Brilliancy is a popular bluegrass tune I found at the Traditional Music Library,  it seems to be a pretty popular tune for mandolin players. The arrrangement this week is in a popular alternate tuning for guitar often called "DADGAD".  I had a lot of fun arranging this tune and I may do a few different ones in the future and or expand this one. Hope you enjoy it. I am planning to post a recording of this arrangement in the next few weeks.

The Whole In The Wall

I found the melody I arranged this week at www.traditionalmusic.co.uk. A  pretty cool website of ALOT of traditional songs and melodies. At first I thought this song had no known author but after some research I found out that it was actually a composition by Henry Purcell  composed around 1695. "Hole-in-the-Wall is a descriptive name for many pubs and taverns, to this day, usually denoting small, perhaps cozy establishments set within a building row. " from http://www.ibiblio.org/fiddlers/HJ_HONOL.htm

It is in the unusual time signuture of 3/2. I hope you enjoy the arrangement this week.

Please feel free to leave me some feedback on the music and/or the site.

Amazing Grace Free Guitar Tab

There are few things I enjoy more than playing guitar during a quiet moment of a slow day or performing at a coffee shop. In the past few years I have found arranging for guitar to at least equal that enjoyment. What can I say I find both alot of fun :). This blog is an outflow of both of those loves, making and sharing music.

So here is the plan. Once a week or so I will post a new guitar arrangement for people to download and use as you wish.  They are all published under a creative commons license so feel free to print or copy as much as you want as long as you are not selling it. If you have requests let me know and I will do my best, one restriction is that I will only arrange songs/or melodies in the public domain.

So for my first arrangement I decided on one of the most recognizable songs in the English language, "Amazing Grace". It is arranged in the key of D major for the late beginner to intermediate player in mind. Feel free to make changes and make it your own.

Here is the link to the PDF file of Amazing Grace

Thanks for checking out the blog and please leave me some feed back.
